KEATING SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO RESIGN FROM THE MODESTO CITY COUNCIL WELCOME TO THE SABATINO REPORT October 11, 2006 KEATING SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO RESIGN FROM THE MODESTO CITY COUNCIL Janice Keatings election to the Board of Supervisors would allow developer Mike Zagaris to appoint a new member to the Modesto City Council. Keating will have legal problems in any event. Zagaris attorney Mike Milich will not be able to cover her terrible record, and County Counsel Mick Krausnick does not have to cover up because he can resign with a “pot of gold” thanks to the contract provided by Supervisor Ray Simon. Probably not as good a deal that CEO Regean received. REBECCA SPEER HAS IT RIGHT WHEN SHE SAYS KEATING IS LED BY DEVELOPERS “Do not be fooled into thinking she has earned her campaign funds due to her ability to lead. She has earned them because of her willingness to be led.” ____Rebecca Speers We wonder if Janice Keating still receives text messages from her leaders during City Council meetings? TIM MORANS ARTICLE ON MEASURE K “ADS” FALLS SHORT MEASURE K DEVELOPERS SPEND $500,000 FOR MASS MAIL Moran reported that Miguel Donoso was going to the California Attorney General. Mr. Donoso should know by now that these folks are not going to investigate themselves. Federal assistance is needed from a Federal Grand Jury. We have not heard from District Attorney Birgit Fladagar and County Counsel Mick Krausnick had an interesting quote in Moran’s story. Krausnick said “StanCOG and the alliance are very clear on the law and assure me that nothing improper is being done.” How much do we pay for this advice? ANOTHER GREAT QUOTE FROM BILL BASSITT Bill Bassitt, the executive director of the Alliance, had a great quote at the Turlock “informational” meeting. He said, “Measure K has a broad base of support throughout the County, not just the developers.” Where is the money Mr. Bassitt?
