Former Mayor Carmen Sabatino has moved from your car radio to your computer.

Go to www.voiceofmodesto.org  at 10 this morning and click on Blog Talk Radio. The program is interactive and you can either call or text into the program.  The program is on demand anytime of the day or night.

This morning we will be discussing the newspapers backing away from the proposed one-half percent public safety tax.  Air time in one hour and fifty-six minutes.

The Modesto Bee, Modesto Chamber of Commerce, Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Democratic and Republican Central Committee’s, and a panel of politico’s sponsored a workshop to train potential candidates for public office.

Below is a Sabatino Report addendum to the curriculum offered that evening.  It was circulated to candidates who attended as part of their education.  History is important.

CURRICULUM FOR CANDIDATES NIGHT

Petrulakis and Zagaris. These are the men who run your city.  They have prospered while the city has suffered.

Ten million dollars in budget cuts are now needed to make up for the shortfall they created.

As a candidate this is what you might expect.

1999 – The following memo points to an attack on  mayoral candidate Carmen Sabatino.  An attempt was made to hold up the mailing of ballots until the attack mailer was ready.  They tampered with the election process to have the mailer and the ballots delivered at the same time.  Carmen Sabatino was elected the 24th Mayor of Modesto and his reforms were not welcome by people who desired to continue to profit at taxpayers’ expense.

The enclosed was presented to me today by Fat Greek Boy, aka, George Petrulakus. He wanted $900

to fund this attack on Carmen. If you knew who I was, you would know that I am not in your camp. But

I am getting sick and tired of this Zagaris takeover. They think they are real bigshots. Fat Boy was

bragging today how he took you out. He wouldn’t say how close he was to having enough money, but

trying to figure out when he would come to me, he’s probably close. I thought if you had it soon at least

you would know where you to be attacked. Can’t you sue Fat Boy and all those Greeks?

The following quote from Mike Zagaris was a threat to Mayor Carmen Sabatino.

Your remarks in the newspaper, which by the way, only serve to confirm comments that you made to other parties who called me and indicated what your motivations were, serve to me as a sad reflection of your use of your power as mayor of this community to take out your personal vendettas against individual citizens.  I have never wanted to be your enemy.  I don’t want to be your enemy now.  But if you choose to engrave my name on the granite list of enemies that you have, I will find myself along with my deceased brother, Steve, along with County Counsel Krausnick, along with Supervisor Simon, and along with so many others a worthy crowd.
